I once read that if someone offers you a new opportunity, take it and you will learn how to do it later. I am telling you this to advise you not to be afraid of new challenges. As a perfectionist, I am often worried of not being up to expectations; but that should not stop me (or you, dear reader) from taking on new challenges. Believe in yourself, ask for help, learn new skills, and do not believe that imposter syndrome. This is how you grow and advance in your career.

Company

What do you like about your job and the company?

I believe that each and every one of us is a success story. And I love that I get to work and meet many people from diverse backgrounds in my current role. Whether it is a new prospect or an old colleague, meeting, conversing and working with motivated people motivate me to go further and aim higher.

Greatest achievements

I started my current role in 2023. It was a busy year with 8 marketing events successfully completed. Little did I know that, in retrospect, 2023 would be a calm year as I would be executing 15 events the next one.

In support, I constantly encounter new topics, both functional and technical. It is important to keep an open mind and address all types of subjects, including those with which I am not familiar. One needs to be curious and able to work on new functional and technical issues. Conducting research in our knowledge database, consulting documentation, or asking colleagues for help are essential steps to solving any issue. The product we work on has many features, and there is always something new to learn.

Nobody likes doing dishes, I certainly don't, but you're never too important to do them. Take this idea and expand it to your career, personal life, and the world around you. This simple phrase reminds us that nothing is below us. This mindset will take you a whole lot further than believing you're above certain things. Whether in your career or your life, you'll come across some things you don't want to do, but it's the people who take those things on with a positive attitude who come out on top. You're never too important to wash the dishes.
