What do you like about your job and the company?
Product development and improvement is a long, but very exciting process. QA need to understand other people ideas, analyse the way how these ideas are implemented and whether these meet end user needs. Sometimes you need to argue, persuade, start everything from scratch multiple times. It is a real pleasure to look back at work that has been done till actual product release and hear positive feedbacks from people using that product. Another exciting part is automation process. Manual testing of some areas may take weeks. The team is delighted when you manage to design a process that allows to run same tests automatically within an hour and that makes you feeling great, too.
Greatest achievements
There was a new enhancement implemented for LGH application that helps users to control the trades they insert and positions they already hold based on the rules they define themselves. This enhancement was then integrated to other related products like Oder Generation and FMDesktop. It required (and keeps requiring as we keep adding more functionality to this) explicit testing knowing and understanding how the new compliance enhancement works and how the other calculations are done within LGH. Another step here - I have managed to automate part of regression testing for this enhancement and there are even more ideas how to expand the coverage of the automated tests.

I suggest don't be afraid to jump into something completely new, it most likely will be exciting, frightful, fun, stressful, but in the end worth it. Growth starts where your comfort zone ends, if you believe that you can do it, you will, if others can do it, why can't you. If you can't go forward and you refuse to go back, this is when you grow, just look around and you will see that there is always a way.
