Hello, I have joined Support team more than 10 years ago and training approach has changed since then. When I joined the team, I had almost one month devoted only to training with the same new joiners as I. Since we are IT company that focuses on financial markets and people who join Linedata coming from very different areas, then first part of training was about Financial Instruments – which types of instruments exist, how they can be traded, what are the benefits of trading them, how to calculate profit and loss, etc. Since we were quite many people in the group, then at the end we even managed to play a game and manage our own fund for one day. Next part was about software that is being used by clients and which we should develop / support. There were few sessions on support practices that we should follow, and also some technical sessions on using sql, oracle, etc. And only after this training I was able to see the software and support workflow in real life. Although, I was joining the company as a Support analyst, the training was not only for support team, but for every new joiner like developer, tester, DBA, etc.
As far as I am aware, now, you have approximately same sessions, with the difference that you don’t have all of them immediately as soon as you have joined the company. You do get a mentor, who is working next to you. From the 1st day you get real tasks that are assigned to you and your mentor and mentor explains you what to do in each case and answers all your questions. In parallel, you have training sessions I described above, though not all of them at once, but split into smaller portions.
Regards,
Lena
