product manager
Hello and thank you for your question! I would say that for me as a product manager, every day is a bit different, tasks change based on priorities and other factors. however, I will try to give you a few insights on some of the more common tasks I deal with on a daily basis.
Since Linedata is a global company, I work with folks all around the globe in different time-zones, which means that when I open my computer in the morning I already have a list of emails with questions and queries for me to review, which gives me a good indicator of the priorities I have for the day unless something else comes up and requires my immediate attention. I also try to take a few minutes to scan the news in the financial industry to watch for any market trends and any new trending business problems that we can solve for.
With agile implementation, I normally have at least a couple of projects running in parallel that I have to stay on top of on a daily basis. We hold daily standup meetings with each project team, some of my tasks include providing clarifications to requirements, helping the team to stay on track with project deliverables, unblocking the team members when required and ensuring that we are adding business value with every change and enhancement to our product. As the sprint kicks off, I spend time grooming and prioritizing the backlog and detailing out new requirements for future releases. I also spend time with our stakeholders to ensure our solution is meeting the needs of our clients and the industry.
In addition to new product releases, I also work closely with account managers and our product support team in assisting our production clients in case of any production issue that needs to be resolved. As the PM, I work closely with the dedicated engineering team to triage production issues and release hotfixes when appropriate.
I hope this helps! :-)
