Kaizen is the Japanese philosophy that means "change for the better". In business, as in life, we can always look for ways to improve - be it seeking operational efficiencies or applying lessons learned to our next endeavor. Change is good and when you see an opportunity to improve something, it might just lead to your next promotion!

What do you like about your job and the company?
I've always preferred to be in a supportive role, rather than front of the house. In drama, I was the stage manager. In sailing, I was the crew. In soccer, I was the defense. At work, I love enabling those around me to do what they do best. I aim to support our critical staff and remove obstacles so they can solve issues and delight our clients. Likewise with our clients, I act as their advocate to ensure they are getting the most out of our firm's solutions and services. It feels good to help fix a problem or make a client happy!
Greatest achievements
I've achieved a lot in my 16 years with Linedata and am happy to have more than a few successes to brag about - be it establishing our now critical Project Management team, or renovating our 16,000 sf office while navigating the pandemic, or successfully upgrading the majority of our clients to our newest technology... but, I think my greatest achievement is being able to work at a company where I enjoy my job, my coworkers, and the satisfaction I get on a day to day basis, so much so, that I have chosen to stay with my company for over 16 years. I'm proud of the work I do, and perhaps more importantly, the people I get to work with! When you work hard for something you don't care about, it is called stress. When you work hard for something you love, it's called passion.

Nobody likes doing dishes, I certainly don't, but you're never too important to do them. Take this idea and expand it to your career, personal life, and the world around you. This simple phrase reminds us that nothing is below us. This mindset will take you a whole lot further than believing you're above certain things. Whether in your career or your life, you'll come across some things you don't want to do, but it's the people who take those things on with a positive attitude who come out on top. You're never too important to wash the dishes.
